With Grandma and Grandpa Ball here, I took a day off and we caught a boat on the major river downtown. The boat ride was a good way to see Bangkok and a quick trip to our main destinations for the day: The Grand Palace and Wat Pho.
Grand Palace
This place is an obvious tourist destination with thousands of “falangs” – but really, after seeing it, I can see why it’s called a must see stop in Bangkok – wow! The temple compound was most impressive along with Buddhism’s most sacred shrine, the emerald Buddha. The Palace is an interesting mix of European style and Bangkok roofing.

Wat Poh
Wat Poh is a HUGE reclining Budha. He’s half the length of a football field and made of all sorts of precious metals and jewels. Also the birthplace for Thai massage. We had a great time taking in all the different sights, sounds and smells!
