Returning Home

Day 9 and 10

Our original flight home to Bangkok was cancelled, so we got another extra day in Auckland.  We caught a taxi to downtown and walked around the beautiful parks of the city.  I loved the trees in Auckland.  Again, they all come straight out of Middle Earth.

Candace had the great idea to take a ferry to one of the small islands in the bay, and I’m glad we did.  We walked around the small town and beach, looked at shells, and enjoyed a slower paced day.  We hiked to the top of a big hill and caught the sunset over Auckland.  It was a really nice day together and a good end to our amazing trip.

The 12-hour flight home was uneventful and it was a great reunion with the kids and Mom and Dad.  We are incredibly thankful for this trip and pinch ourselves when reflecting upon all the great things and people we were able to visit.  Thanks to everyone who made this possible!
