While we haven’t had the time to do anything really touristy or fun, we have had some quick outings that are fun. As mentioned in a previous post, Candace and I went to a nearby convention hall (Impact Center) to do furniture shopping yesterday. Besides getting a bit lost there and back, it was a blast.
Our daughter has found a new way to go down our stairs. Whenever she comes down, she grabs the railing and slides all the way down. It’s pretty cute.
We’ve taken to making soft pretzels more frequently while here. The kids love making different shapes (our daughter made a dinosaur for her brother in the photo below) and it reminds me of my brother as we did this growing up frequently as well:
Shopping is the national past time here (and in lots of Asia). We’ve gone to the malls and outdoor markets quite a bit as we look for various things we need. The malls here are H-U-G-E.
My favorite is discovering the great, local food at amazing prices here. I can eat lunch for $1!
Finally, we recently had a national holiday – the Queen’s birthday…also known as mother’s day. I surprised Candace and Khun Jah by getting them some beautiful flower necklaces and plant.
Looks pretty tasty for $1! And that mall looks like an international airport.
