Birthdays
Our 2nd oldest and youngest both celebrate their birthdays the second half of February. Both had a wonderful time – and their siblings went all out to ensure they felt special. They built a birthday "room" and birthday "tent"to sleep in on birthday eve.
We had an Olympics theme birthday party for our 10 year old, which was intense on so many levels. 10 year-old-boys make more noise than a class 3 atomic bomb going off. The party felt like a UN gathering with countries from around the world represented…it was pretty cool (Sweden, Norway, Korea, Thailand, Russia, Israel, etc.).
Flowers
With the weather warming up again, the flowers are coming out in force (probably worth base lining here that “warming up again” means going from averages of 75-80 during our winter to 92-98). I love all the colors.
This is a panoramic of my favorite part of my jogging path:
With the change in temperature have come THOUSANDS of mosquitos. Seriously crazy. Even the Thais say there are more this year than before. How lucky we are!
Potpourri
Some fun photos of just life here…
These 2 are either best of friends and “twins” or they’re fighting about something these days
How do you make Thailand even better? By putting up a proper sized BYU logo in your room (and getting a mosquito net so you don’t get eaten alive at night)
Candace and I had a great date night at a local river restaurant. Wow.
And finally, we’ve been adopted by a family of large, ugly toads. They come every other night (around 5 of them) and make all sorts of noise while enjoying our pool.
the water in the pool doesn't kill the toads? He sure is a big guy. How fun! Looks like bdays were a lot of fun!
