Songkran! (Thai New Years and country-wide water fight)

Last year during Spring Break, we left the country and our kids made us promise we wouldn’t miss the festivities surrounding Songkran this year in Thailand.  I’m glad they put up a fuss, because we have had a blast this year during the 2-day water fights, chalk “hugs,” and wishes of “Happy Songkran” from everyone!

We started the activities early yesterday and spent all day SOAKING anyone who would drive by our village.  Thanks to Nichada’s golf carts, we got a lot of people really wet.  It was a lot of fun with our neighbors and friends!  We ordered pizza, chips, and hung out by the pool when we weren’t soaking passer-bys.

Today we did more soaking of people in Nichada, but also took our golf cart out to Samakee road and enjoyed being the prime targets of the local Thais.  We got plenty of chalk and FREEZING water poured on us.  It was a blast.
